Since 2012, ICBAS has been located in a modern building on Rua Jorge Viterbo Ferreira, a complex of buildings shared with the Faculty of Pharmacy, right next to the Palacio de Cristal Gardens and just a few meters away from the Santo António Hospital (ULSSA). It is in this hospital that the clinical component of human medicine is developed, in a real healthcare context, as well as in modern physical, electronic and digital simulators, in the Biomedical Simulation Center.
The Veterinary Hospital of the University of Porto (UPVET), located in the complex, makes it possible to teach the clinical component of veterinary medicine (small animal clinic) in a real healthcare context.
ICBAS also has facilities at U.Porto's Vairão Agricultural Campus in Vila do Conde - the Vairão Veterinary Clinical and Research Center (CCIVV) - which also includes the Vairão Equine Clinical Center (CCEV). The CCIVV collaborates in the practical training of veterinary medicine students and in providing a reference service in the area of equine internal medicine and surgery.
ICBAS also houses the Museum of Human Anatomy Prof. Nuno Grande, whose mission is to complement the teaching of the Anatomy subjects of the Integrated Masters in Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. The museum is also available for visits by secondary schools and universities, by prior appointment.
