The First Degree in Educational Sciences (LCED) provides a "broadband" education that will enable you to acquire scientific knowledge to understand educational processes and develop professional intervention skills in multiple areas and in education and training contexts for audiences of different ages. The course is structured around four components, articulated with each other: i) multidisciplinary theoretical training in Education; ii) training in research and intervention methodologies; iii) theoretical-practical training that promotes communicative-relational, reflective and critical skills; and an introductory seminar in mediation and training.

Recipients:
International students may apply to enrol and register for the first cycle of study in Psychology, in accordance with the conditions listed below.
International students who are:
- Holders of a qualification giving access to higher education, understood as any diploma or certificate issued by a competent authority attesting to the successful completion of a secondary education programme in that country and entitling them to apply for and enter higher education in the country in which it was awarded;
- Holders of a Portuguese secondary school diploma or legally equivalent qualification..
And that fall into one of the following categories:
- Portuguese national exams corresponding to the entrance exams set for that cycle of studies, for that year, under the general access regime;
- Foreign national or final secondary school exams considered equivalent by the EC's scientific committee, which must cover the subjects of the entrance exams set for the cycle of studies in question under the general access and entrance regime;
- Higher education entrance exams (such as the ENEM taken in Brazil), which demonstrate knowledge of the subjects of the entrance exams at a level and content equivalent to that of students admitted through the general access and entrance system;
- In the absence of final exams or tests, the final subjects of secondary education may be taken into consideration, when there is documentary proof that the qualification held is recognised as a necessary condition for formalising an application and entering higher education, in a similar course, in the country in which it was obtained.

Selection and ranking criteria and respective weighting:
Knowledge of the language in which the programme is taught (Portuguese) assessed by presenting a document proving this.
Entrance exams:
- Portuguese or
- Maths Applied to Social Sciences or
- Biology/Geology
Grading criteria:
- Secondary school average - 50%
- Average of entrance exams - 50%
- Tie-breaking criteria:
- 1st Best entrance exam score
- 2nd Best secondary school classification (or equivalent)

Not hold a higher education qualification.
Citizens who, despite holding an academic qualification at secondary level - or legally equivalent - have not taken, in the current academic year, an access test that qualifies them to attend the Bachelor's Degree course in Educational Sciences may apply.
Citizens who hold a higher education qualification but do not have an access qualification for the cycle of studies they are applying for in the same academic year are also eligible to apply. Citizens covered by the international student statute (Decree-Law no. 62/2018, of 6 August) cannot apply to this competition.
REGISTRATION
Candidates over the age of 23 will be able to register for the tests designed to assess their ability to attend the Bachelor's Degree in Educational Sciences from 1st April to 17th May 2024, exclusively by electronic means.

Holders of secondary education (or enrolled in the last year of school) in a course in one of the following areas of education and training: Child and Youth Services (761)1 or Social Work and Guidance (762)2.
1 - Educational Action Technician; Youth Technician;
2 - Sociocultural Animator; Family and Community Support Technician; Geriatric Technician; Psychosocial Support Technician; Intercultural Mediator.

INFORMATION ON THE ENTRANCE EXAM
The test consists of two groups of questions and will last 1.5 hours.
- The 1st group consists of 3 questions, but the student only has to answer 2 questions of their choice.
The questions in this group are designed to gauge competences in interpretation, comprehension and a general relationship with educational issues, as well as the written expression of ideas. Each question is worth 5 points.
- The 2nd group consists of just 1 question, which the student must answer.

The First Degree in Psychology (LPSI) provides initial training in psychology by learning fundamental content and competences in line with the EuroPsy/European Certificate in Psychology. Students acquire basic knowledge that contributes to a better understanding of the biopsychosocial complexity of human behaviour and the areas in which psychology operates (Clinical, Health, Education, Organisations, Social, Work, Justice, etc.), while also developing a critical understanding of theories, methods and the ethical and deontological dimensions of psychology.
