According to reports by the Institute of Medicine (IOM), human error is a risk factor for the occurrence of adverse events, and a scientific approach is needed to understand and manage human errors and their impact on healthcare. In recent decades, more detailed research into failures in healthcare has revealed that deficiencies in non-technical skills play a key role in the majority of adverse incidents. This course will enable healthcare professionals to recognize non-technical skills behaviours and actions in themselves and others.
