Longevity has increased significantly in Portugal and ageing with quality of life has become a target of great interest among the general population. This continuing training unit aims to raise awareness of this issue among health and life sciences professionals, emphasizing the areas of pharmacological and non-pharmacological intervention to promote a better quality of life in the ageing process.
By the end of the course, trainees should have acquired the following skills: understanding the physiological changes in the ageing process and the main underlying factors/mechanisms; recognizing the importance of playing an active role in promoting health and ageing with quality of life; recognizing the chronic pathology-ageing binomial; identifying and understanding pharmacological and non-pharmacological anti-ageing strategies; recognizing the role of food as a promoter of healthy ageing.
Professionals trained in the health and life sciences and resident in Portugal.
The 14 contact hours will be distributed as follows: the first and last sessions (two hours each) will be face-to-face, for a general introduction to the course, including assessment methodologies and expected results; and the remaining 10 hours will be divided into 5 sessions over 3 weeks (Thursdays and Fridays between 5.30pm and 7.30pm), in e-learning mode (synchronous). At the end of each session, trainees will have to complete a short formative assessment activity.
Assessment will be distributed and will consist of attendance and completion of the formative assessment activities (30%) and a final exam, to be held in the last session, in a face-to-face format (70%).

Selection and ranking criteria
1st criterion - Unemployed people (15 points)
2nd criterion - Number of years in the job market (5 points):
- - Between 0 and 1 year (5 points);
- - Between 1 and 3 years (3 points);
- - Between 3 and 5 years (1 point).
40€ All those enrolled in the continuing training unit + 2€ (school insurance)
