Doctoral Degree in Philosophy

Curricular structure

The Doctoral Programme is organised according to the European system of accumulative and transferable ECTS credits (60 ECTS per year; 180 ECTS in total). The 1st year is the Doctoral Course during which the student attends two Curricular Units (60 credits) each semester.

In the following 2 years (maximum 4) the student carries out research and the Doctoral Thesis (120 credits), integrating research and related activities under the guidance of one or more lecturers.

On completion of the taught part (course = 1st year: 60 ECTS) a diploma of in-depth studies is awarded. The degree of Doctor of Philosophy is awarded on presentation, defence and approval of a doctoral thesis.
