Doctoral Degree in Social Sciences and Aging

The PhD in Social Sciences and Ageing offers a space for advanced training in the field of demographic ageing and longevity studies through the scientific lens of the Social Sciences. It is a cycle of studies that brings together a variety of disciplinary areas, focussing on the complementarities that are fundamental to understanding a multidimensional phenomenon such as demographic ageing and longevity.

Job Opportunities

Most countries have seen a significant increase in the number of elderly people. This phenomenon affects almost all sectors of society, making the training of researchers a priority due to the link between population ageing and strategic economic sectors for the Portuguese and Galician communities. This cycle of studies intends to train qualified professionals capable of coordinating adaptation to the challenges of demographic ageing.
