The Master's Degree in Museology offers a teaching and research programme in a scientifically inclusive and interdisciplinary environment. It specialises graduates or equivalent in the various branches of the sciences, arts and letters, in museological theory and practice. In particular, it aims to provide qualified training for museum professionals and to develop high quality fundamental and applied research in museology that is recognised by academic and professional circles.
Management of cultural institutions, particularly museums; Liberal profession/ local and central administration in the area of planning and management of cultural resources; Scientific research and teaching in the field of Museology; Museum project; Collections management; Preventive conservation; Integrated risk management; Reserves planning and management; Education and mediation sector; Interpretive planning and content production; Curating, organising and producing exhibitions; Cultural programming and management; Digital strategy management; Accessibility management; Evaluation of services and programming; Teaching in recruitment groups 200 (Portuguese and Social Studies/History) and 400 (History).

Learn moreThe Master's programme invests in the acquisition of digital, transversal and transferable skills, in a balance between theory, its practical application and innovative experimentation, in order to generate and face new challenges and critically and creatively solve problems for the integrated development of museums.
The 2nd year provides a deeper understanding of museology through the completion of a dissertation or project, or an internship (520 hours).
