The Master's Degree in Medieval Studies aims to deepen and complement studies in the scientific areas that make up the study plan of graduates or equivalent, providing them with skills for professional activity in which the knowledge acquired in this training is relevant, or scientific research.

Curricular structure


The first year of the cycle of studies, divided into two semesters, constitutes the Course (non-degree awarding) in Medieval Studies, corresponding to 60 ECTS credits. The second year consists of an orientation seminar and a dissertation, project or internship, corresponding to the remaining 60 ECTS credits.
The Master's programme includes curricular units from the scientific areas of Medieval Studies, Philology, Philosophy, Geography, History, History of Art, Linguistics and Literature, giving students the opportunity to explore other scientific areas at U.Porto.
