The International Master's Degree in City Challenges, created under the University without Borders Project, aims to analyse the challenges of today's cities and the respective solutions for their transformation into sustainable, intelligent, efficient, resilient and inclusive cities, considering the following dimensions: the Physical dimension, the Social and Educational dimension, the Environmental dimension, the Technological dimension, the Economic dimension and the Governance dimension.

Curricular structure

This cycle of studies is taught by six universities in the Galicia-Northern Portugal Euroregion (University of Vigo, University of Santiago de Compostela, University of A Coruña, University of Porto, University of Minho, University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro), and is a multidisciplinary postgraduate programme taught in a blended-learning system, which provides access to the resources of these institutions.

The Master's programme is designed to provide in-depth knowledge in six specific areas - built heritage, the environment, social and educational sciences, information technology, governance and economics. The aim of this academic specialisation is to equip master's students with the skills to intervene in the creation of sustainable, intelligent, efficient, resilient and inclusive cities.

Additional information

The International Master's Degree in City Challenges was created as part of the UNISF project, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund ERDF through the Interreg V-A Spain-Portugal Programme (POCTEP) 2014-2020.
