Curricular structure
The curricular structure of this master’s degree comprises three compulsory curricular units which define its scientific ethos, and two optional units in each semester. The possibility for students to attend 6 ECTS per semester of any 2nd cycle course at U.Porto, including 3 ECTS in the area of transversal competences, opens up various possibilities for multidisciplinarity. The training areas offered by the master’s degree include Anthropology, Cooperation and Development, Education, Cultural Studies, Geography, History, Literature and Sociology.
An academic and social project - This programme is part of the University of Porto's scientific, educational and cultural outreach project. In addition to an academic dissertation, it offers students the chance to develop a project or an internship in governmental or non-governmental organisations linked to society, culture or the market (embassies and consulates, NGOs, newspapers and other media, cultural and emigrant associations in Africa or Europe and companies). The study programme benefits from the University of Porto's participation in international research and cooperation networks.
