Support for I&D+i Units - REMA

The mission of the Research Management & Science Communication HUB (REMA) is to help strengthen FLUP's R&D ecosystem by promoting the attraction of economic resources and the development of science and technology management activities of various kinds. REMA plays a fundamental role in supporting FLUP's scientific community at different levels of research. In addition, REMA encourages applications for scientific employment and supports career development. It is also responsible for creating and contributing to science communication initiatives aimed at society.

Activities

  • In the field of science and technology management, REMA collaborates in the preparation of funding applications. The Unit publicises funding opportunities, assists in selecting the most appropriate call for proposals for each project, and provides advice from the formulation of the proposal to the analysis and assessment of the application ready for submission.
  • REMA also offers training sessions to the entire FLUP scientific community to support the preparation of different applications and, in general, to help improve the FLUP community's knowledge of scientific activity. To this end, it develops teaching materials and resources to support research.
  • In terms of science communication, REMA promotes scientific dissemination and the process of transferring knowledge of FLUP's research results. The Unit is involved in designing science communication plans to valorise the results of projects. In this context, it creates its own initiatives and contributes to the initiatives of the Units.
  • REMA acts as a driving force behind internal and external communication channels, liaising with the Rectorate's Research and Projects Service (SIP), as well as with other agents and Units at FLUP and U.Porto. It liaises with other external interlocutors within the scope of its functions; and contributes to the search for partners in the academic and non-academic spheres.
