CODA - Centre for Digital Culture and Innovation - is a Functional Unit focused on Digital Humanities (DH), which stands out for its potential to generate new dynamics in the areas of Social Sciences and Humanities. CODA has been anchored in FLUP since 2022, providing support to all of its eight research units and working in synergy with REMA.
Using its own projects and others that prove to be aggregating and demonstrative in the area of HD, CODA's mission is to strengthen and stimulate trans- and interdisciplinary research between FLUP's R&D units and other (inter)national collaborations.
Activities
- CODA plays an active role in creating innovative models of co-creative research practices and new research dynamics;
- The Unit also provides support for the development of new digital projects by members of FLUP's R&D Units, fostering national and international collaborations and applications for funding;
- CODA actively promotes the transfer and valorisation of knowledge, by holding short courses, or by collaborating in teaching and participating in the training and guidance of bachelor's, master's and doctoral students;
- The Unit also fosters and implements principles of open science and science for citizenship, seeking to involve the non-academic public in scientific research, both locally and globally.
