The Centre includes teachers/researchers from FLUP and other institutions with which it has cooperation agreements, as well as doctoral students and collaborators. It hosts a large number of FCT doctoral and post-doctoral researchers.
The main areas of advanced research developed by CLUP members are: specialised communication, didactics, discourse, phonology, computational linguistics, text linguistics, forensic linguistics, historical linguistics/linguistic historiography, applied psycholinguistics, semantics, syntax and translation.
Activities
- CLUP regularly organises national and international meetings, conferences, courses and other scientific initiatives;
- The Centre publishes various titles, including monographs and books, as well as the journals eLingUP, Language and Law, Linguarum Arena, Linguística and REDIS, all of which are national and international references;
- The Centre is involved in various specialised training, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at U. Porto in the field of Language Sciences: Linguistics, Didactics, Translation and Language Technologies.
- CLUP develops various activities with a social impact, based on the advanced research of its members and reinforced by partnerships and co-operation protocols with national and international institutions.
