The co-tutored doctorate is a type of doctorate that involves enrolment at the University of Porto and another foreign higher education institution, with double supervision of the thesis and with double degrees awarded by the institutions involved by prior written agreement.
This type of academic programme involves two parties:
- Home institution - the institution where the doctoral student applied and was admitted;
- Consigning institution - where the candidate will carry out part of their research and where the thesis co-supervisor teaches.
