The Department of Heritage Studies (DCTP), created in 1997, was the first organisation of its kind to be set up at FLUP. The DCTP brings together various areas of Heritage Sciences, both in terms of educational training and scientific research: Archaeology, History of Art and Museology.
The Department's mission is to create and transfer knowledge in its areas of activity, based on a solid pedagogical experience materialised through a significant range of consultancy, training and research collaborations through protocols with institutions outside the Academy, student internships, participation in events, content creation, etc. Through its activities, the DCTP aims to continue to emphasise the role that the University should play as an agent of social, economic and territorial development in the Cultural Heritage sector.
