Computer Vision (CV) is an emerging technology, and the CV industry has experienced tremendous growth year after year. The Master's Degree in Computer Vision (MVCOMP) will enable graduates to acquire general knowledge in the field of Computer Vision and guarantee the ability to analyse a company's needs in terms of these techniques and to propose and apply existing technological tools.

The MVCOMP offers employers a professional profile oriented towards Computer Vision, with theoretical and practical training in a variety of techniques that provide a solid and broad knowledge of the field, enabling them to analyse a company's needs and offer innovative solutions.

Learning Objectives

Learning Objectives

The course aims to offer advanced training in Computational Vision (CV), enabling the capacity to:

  • know and apply concepts, methodologies and technologies for image and video analysis;
  • know and apply concepts and techniques of machine learning applied to computer vision;
  • critically analyse and evaluate technologies and methodologies; 
  • analyse the needs of a company in the CV field and develop the best technological solution; 
  • identify theoretical results or new technologies with innovative potential and turn them into products and services useful to society;
  • autonomous learning for specialization.

The specific competencies are jointly offered with transversal competencies, enabling the exercise of the profession with an awareness of its human, economic, legal and ethical dimensions, ability to work in a team, organization and planning.

The Master's is an International Programme offered jointly by the University of Porto, the University of Santiago and Compostela, the University of Vigo and the University of Corunha. The Master is offered in English.
