Objectives
The Advanced Studies in Sustainable Energy Systems programme aims to train a new generation of leaders in the sustainability and economics of energy systems, and to generate and communicate new knowledge in fundamental areas of energy systems. Our focus is on combining multidisciplinary efforts, including engineering and economics, in the analysis and design of energy systems in the context of sustainable development.
Postgraduate training in SSE will thus prepare students for the development of fundamental research that will enable them to
- Generate knowledge based on advanced training programmes (DFA/DEA) and state-of-the-art R&D (PHD) in various fields, promoting the development of innovative products and the integration of technologies within the framework of sustainable energy systems, where energy demand is met with a minimum of non-renewable resources, taking into account different geographical and socio-economic scenarios;
- Promote new forms of interaction between universities and business, government and society to identify and sustainably implement new energy, science and technology and innovation policies.
