Doctoral Degree in Mining and Geo-Resources Engineering

The Doctoral Programme in Mining Engineering and Geo-Resources focuses on a multidisciplinary, advanced and comprehensive approach to the scientific or technological problems involved in the life cycle of a mineral resource. Research is primarily aimed at a fundamental understanding of the fundamental processes that underpin the sciences and technologies involved in the application of engineering principles to the geosciences.

Students will develop their research from the first year under the supervision of a mentor. Depending on their background, they may be required to attend courses, either regular or tutorial, on advanced topics relevant to their research.

The research must be innovative (in terms of subject matter, methodology or conclusions) and contribute to the advancement of scientific or technological knowledge in the relevant field.
