Doctoral Degree - Doctoral Programmes

After completing my Master's in Informatics Engineering and Computing at FEUP, during which I had the opportunity to participate in projects in collaboration with companies, I decided to explore what the world of research had to offer. I was eventually integrated into two research projects in laboratories located at FEUP. Therefore, one year after completing my Master's, I joined the Doctoral Programme in Computer Engineering.

The choice of FEUP was due to the opportunities I was given to explore the world of scientific research even before joining the programme, which provided me with a field of knowledge to explore. The awarding of a doctoral scholarship by FCT was also crucial for the development of my research.

The main focus of my PhD was Software Engineering in the Internet of Things (IoT). As IoT is being adopted by various industries and domains, building these systems reliably is of utmost importance. The scientific contributions resulting from the research were presented at several leading conferences and journals in the field, highlighting their relevance.

The supervision team, composed of professors from FEUP, played a key role in the success of the research work, demonstrating the quality of the institution's teaching and research.

Looking ahead, I now hope to transfer the knowledge I have gained to industry and continue conducting research, establishing collaborative partnerships with FEUP whenever the opportunity arises.
