Bachelor's Degree - Undergraduate Programmes

First Degree in Aerospace Engineering

Aerospace Engineering (L.Aero) study programme aims to provide students with transversal, systemic and multidisciplinary training in the field of aerospace engineering. The degree combines the following scientific areas:

- Maths;

- Computational Systems;

- Materials and Structures, with an emphasis on Materials, Manufacturing Processes, Mechanics and Aerospace Structures;

- Fluids and Energy, covering Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Aerodynamics and Turbomachinery;

- Systems, with an emphasis on Circuits, Electromagnetism, Signals, Systems and Control.

L.Aero has a high laboratory and computational component, culminating in the preparation of a final project. In complementary terms, the aim is to create a dynamic of involvement through the integration of an Aerospace Engineering Competition, as well as the development of transversal competences through the integration of specific curricular units in the area.

Learning objectives

Learning objectives

Graduates in Aerospace Engineering will acquire solid, integrated knowledge in the fundamental scientific areas of this engineering: maths and physics, namely materials and structures, fluids and energy, systems and computing. On the basis of this knowledge, Aerospace Engineering graduates will have a holistic view of the field, understanding the main technological challenges, and should be able to contribute to the preliminary design, manufacture and testing of aerospace systems.

These graduates will have the necessary skills to:

  1. continue their studies in more advanced cycles of Aerospace Engineering and related areas;
  2. follow the evolution of Aerospace knowledge and technologies throughout their professional career.
