First Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management

The aim of the study programme is to produce professionals who combine mastery of management techniques with a solid engineering background. The programme includes training in mathematics and physics, combined with an integrated knowledge of technological issues in the areas of design and manufacturing, fluids and power, and industrial automation. Students acquire a broad knowledge of the workings of business and the economy. Graduates are expected to support decision making in organisations and to be active agents of change and innovation. Students are encouraged to develop a range of soft skills such as communication, social responsibility and group work.

Specific objectives

Acquire and be able to use knowledge of basic sciences, such as mathematics and physics, and engineering sciences and technologies, particularly in the areas of design and manufacturing, fluids and energy, and industrial automation;
Acquire a broad knowledge of quantitative methods and information systems, especially as decision support tools;
Acquire an integrated knowledge of business management, with an emphasis on operations management;
Develop an attitude as an agent of change, creativity, communication skills and group work.
