Bachelor's Degree - Undergraduate Programmes

First Degree in Environmental Engineering

Environmental engineering is a branch of engineering that combines physical and environmental sciences with technological (engineering) sciences.

Professionals in this field are dedicated to preventing and identifying adverse environmental impacts, applying technologies to solve them, and integrating sustainable solutions into industrial and social development.

Listed in the top 5 engineering professions of the future (TOPUNIVERSITIES. Rankings), environmental engineering has a transversal dimension and is expected to be increasingly present in projects and interventions in society as part of an ecosystem.

Learning objectives

Learning objectives

The main objective of the L.EA is to provide an excellent education in the fundamental sciences that underpin Environmental Engineering, namely in the fundamental scientific areas (physical and natural sciences) and in the technological sciences common to engineering study cycles (such as transport phenomena - fluid mechanics and heat and mass transfer - and unit operations applied in environmental engineering laboratories) and specific to the environmental field, complemented by knowledge in the management area (decision methods and environmental decision tools and planning).

The main aim of this training is to ensure that graduates have the necessary knowledge to go on to study for a Master's degree, where they will gain full competence to exercise the profession of environmental engineer.
