Learning objectives
The aim is to provide students with experimental exposure to research techniques in order to develop curiosity/interest in carrying out high-level scientific research of a basic and/or applied nature, in accordance with internationally accepted quality parameters and ethical standards. The educational objectives of the curriculum also include the development of skills in group work and communication with peers and the academic and business community.
Graduates should be able to conceive, design, implement and operate complex systems that generate added value in a context of environmental and social sustainability and professional and social ethics.An integral civic education is also provided with extracurricular training. Students should acquire skills and attitudes that will enable them to perform well in group work in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments, in innovation and as agents of change. The L.BIO learning objectives are based on the CDIO and EUR-ACE references.
The CDIO descriptors are aimed at acquiring proficiency in: basic sciences; engineering sciences; technologies in their area of training; project management, implementation and operation of systems; interpersonal and professional skills and attitudes; and conception, design, operation of systems in the company and social context. These descriptors have already been adapted to the requirements of ABET accreditation in the USA.
