An important part of the activities carried out at FEUP are the initiatives of the Student Groups, which have made a decisive contribution to integration into the life of the school. Their main objective is to promote a series of activities that complement the students' academic career and contribute to a differentiation of the skills acquired during the course, making them more competitive in the labour market.

Other Projects
FEUP's community - students, teachers, researchers and technicians - also has access to a range of extra-curricular activities that contribute to their enrichment, both as people and as professionals. FEUP and the University of Porto offer a wide range of activities to all students.
U.Porto Volunteering
The aim is to encourage the academic community, especially students, to participate in activities of social responsibility, with a view to promoting the common good and greater social justice, on a free, generous and totally voluntary basis. Volunteering with U.Porto implies a commitment, both for the host organisation and the volunteer, to the principles followed by U.Porto.
Entrepreneurship Club
CEdUP is the first University Entrepreneurship Club in Portugal. Its aim is to unite and support students, alumni and staff of the University of Porto who are interested in entrepreneurship, and to encourage the development of an entrepreneurial spirit in the different professional challenges that each individual faces.
Debating Society
The University of Porto Debating Society (SdDUP) is a non-profit organisation, run and founded by U.Porto students, dedicated to debating as a means of promoting critical thinking, mutual understanding, love of language, words and ideas. Its main objective is to stimulate critical thinking, contribute to the improvement of rhetorical skills, develop a sense of humour, improvisation skills, the ability to express opinions and use orality as a means of transmitting ideas.
Its 500 or so members organise debates and related training events and compete internationally with similar debating societies at the world's best universities.
