The Information Systems Office (GSI) operates in the area of supporting the use of FEUP's information systems and interaction with U.Porto services in the information systems domain. The GSI is responsible for:
- Supporting the FEUP community in using administrative and academic information systems;
- Identifying FEUP's information needs and the functionalities of information systems common to U.Porto, aggregating and validating them with FEUP's Management;
- Working closely with the Digital University (UPdigital) in defining and implementing IT concepts, procedures, and technical solutions for FEUP staff;
- Supporting departments and services in the effective use of information systems by all types of users, including resolving technical issues, promoting functionalities, training, planning, and monitoring the execution of FEUP’s main processes;
- Supporting FEUP's management bodies by preparing reports and statistics;
- Supporting departments and researchers in compiling data and preparing reports, keeping records of provided data and non-disclosure agreements;
- Assisting in data entry for operations where information producers do not have local capacity to do so.
