Department - Electrical and Computer Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC) is the organisational subunit of FEUP that encompasses the human, material, and financial resources associated with Electrical and Computer Engineering. In accordance with the FEUP Statutes, its mission is to frame, foster, and promote training, research, development, and outreach activities in its field of expertise. DEEC comprises 76 teaching staff, 22 researchers, and 17 technical staff.

DEEC is organised into the following Sub-Disciplinary Areas: Automation and Robotics; Energy Conversion; Fundamentals of Electrotechnics; Fundamentals of Communications; Electrical Installations; Mathematics; Electricity Markets and Regulation; Information Processing and Machine Learning; Signal Processing; Communication Networks and Services; Power Networks and Systems; Digital Systems and Computer Architecture; Systems and Control; Embedded Systems; Technology and Electronic Circuits; Communication Technologies; Multimedia Technologies and Systems; Technologies for Biomedical Applications.
