The Faculty closely collaborates with renowned institutions such as the European Space Agency (ESA), IBM, Microsoft, and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). These partnerships have enabled the modernisation of its study programmes, taking into account the needs of numerous Portuguese and international stakeholders, as well as the guidelines set by organisations like the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI) and the Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research (CESAER).
FEUP has been expanding its cooperation base, participating in major international engineering networks and associations, such as the MAGALHÃES Network.
In 2019, the Faculty of Engineering led a pioneering consortium bringing together Portugal’s leading engineering schools: Instituto Superior Técnico, the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra (FCTUC), the School of Engineering of the University of Minho (EEUM), the Faculty of Science and Technology of NOVA University Lisbon (FCT NOVA), and the University of Aveiro (UA). The aim of the Consortium of Engineering Schools (CEE) is to promote the training and recruitment of doctoral researchers from Portuguese-speaking countries.
