Merit Prizes for Students, Alumni, and Faculty

The awarding of prizes by companies to recent graduates, students, researchers, or others who stand out in areas of interest to the company is one of the possible forms of collaboration, ensuring a strong connection between the academic and business sectors. As recognition of the quality and training provided by FEUP, some partner companies award distinction prizes, enhancing the reputation of the Faculty of Engineering and its community.

Sponsorship of Academic and Scientific Events

FEUP organises a wide range of events, whose viability is primarily ensured by the sponsorship of companies.
By supporting the organisation of these events, companies not only strengthen their ties of cooperation with the academic institution but also increase their visibility within the community and among relevant stakeholders. Conferences, seminars, and other events across various fields are some of the initiatives to which companies can contribute.

Academic, Scientific, and Social Sponsorship

With the aim of bridging the scientific and business communities, companies have the opportunity to promote research through donations or contributions, becoming scientific patrons and obtaining tax benefits as a result of their support.

At FEUP, sponsorship can take the following forms:

  • Research Project Sponsorship – Supporting the development of a specific scientific research project.
  • Scientific Equipment Sponsorship – Supporting the acquisition of facilities and/or scientific equipment, as well as funding conservation works in research facilities.
  • Human Resources Sponsorship – Providing researchers and/or specialists for the development of a research or demonstration project.
  • Sponsorship for Scientific Events – Supporting scientific dissemination activities, including large scientific events such as fairs, conferences, and exhibitions.
  • Innovation or Industrial Application Sponsorship – Supporting the demonstration of research and technological development results in an industrial setting.

By becoming a patron, you are actively contributing to the quality of teaching and research at FEUP.
