The various stages of socialisation that humans undergo are reflected in different processes as individuals and as members of a group, society, or organisation. The concepts of health and well-being, which emphasise different dimensions, are continually evolving and are influenced by the way human development is perceived over time.

Green areas
FEUP has around 23,000 square metres of green spaces (27% of the institution's total area), where 24 olive trees from the Alqueva reservoir, which were doomed to disappear due to the construction of the dam, have been planted. Their recovery was the beginning of the beautification and improvement of the green areas and landscape of the FEUP campus. This restoration of natural vegetation, as part of the FEUP's environmental programme, is worth highlighting as a further contribution to the school's sustainable development policy.
The Faculty's landscape has also been enriched by the planting of more than 180 trees (mainly liquidambar, magnolia, ash, birch and maple) distributed throughout the car parks and other green areas.
