The commitment is to promote a more sustainable environment and reduce the environmental impact of the activity, through minimizing the consumption of natural resources, adequate waste management, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting the conservation of biodiversity, the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures. FEP also encourages research and teaching focused on sustainability topics, preparing its students to face the environmental challenges of the future. This commitment reaffirms FEP's commitment to actively contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally aware world.
One of the commitments made is related to carbon neutrality, with the signing since 2022 of the Porto Climate Pact, authored by the Porto City Council. In this context, actions and initiatives have been developed, namely certification in scope 1 and 2 regarding carboon footprint, obtained in July 2024.
