The Faculty of Sciences is committed to the 2030 Agenda, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the Digital Transition and Green Transition.

FCUP's Waste Management Coordinating Committee and the Safety, Hygiene and Sustainability Unit at SIMS are responsible for the main activities in terms of sustainability and environmental management, assisting FCUP's Management in coordinating the management of the various types of waste generated on its premises in an integrated manner and in collaboration with the departments.

FCUP has most of its buildings located on a central campus in Campo Alegre (pole 3 of U.Porto), totaling almost 60,000m² of built area, set in around 15,000m² of soil, in an extensive area of more than 50,000m² of landscaped green spaces.
