Masters Degree in Geographical Information Systems and Spatial Planning
The use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has increased remarkably over the last 20 years, especially in the areas of spatial planning. This growth is evidenced by the diversity of sectors that now use this technology, including geography, the environment, transport/mobility, waste management and water supply, agriculture or civil protection, among many others.
It is undeniable that GIS has become an essential tool, widely used in all sectors where location is a crucial factor in optimising work, increasing productivity or managing the territory. This Master's Degree seeks to respond to the new territorial challenges that are emerging in a rapidly changing world, equipping our graduates with specific skills to respond to these new challenges.
Job Opportunities
Public and private bodies working on territorial issues: scientific research centres; Central and local administration (e.g. CCDR, municipalities, Civil Protection); Military organisations (Army, Navy, Hydrographic Institute); Consultancy companies linked to planning and land use, transport and logistics, the environment, infrastructure networks (water and energy), agriculture.
