From the very first year I focused exclusively on my doctoral thesis, which facilitated and accelerated all the research associated with it. In addition, the exchange of ideas with the students and with an extremely qualified and multidisciplinary teaching staff was extremely useful in the development of the work carried out.
As a natural consequence of my academic career at FCUP and all the encouragement I received from all the professors, it was very easy for me to decide to embark on a scientific career, starting with a PhD in Computer Science. The working conditions, the support not only from my supervisor but also from the entire DCC community were fundamental to building a strong and demanding career in my PhD. I have always been surrounded by a serene environment that encourages high-quality research work. All these factors have also contributed to my development as a man, fostering values such as humility, hard work, co-operation and respect for others. These are the same values on which I have based my professional career in academia.
The Doctoral Programme in Computer Science (PDCC-FCUP) offers a very rewarding experience and creative freedom in science for those looking for expressiveness in scientific research. The collaborative environment and synergy between the members of the Department of Computer Science (DCC-FCUP) carries out processes in a very agile way, everything happens at the right time, and so you feel that we are part of the agents responsible for innovation, rapid technological development and pioneering in a global context. It enables national, international and interdisciplinary co-operation in a very spontaneous way, fostering the universal purpose of scientific research. A very enriching experience on many levels.
