FCUP Student Support Centre

The mission of the Student Support Centre (NAE) is to promote the well-being of FCUP's student community, ensuring that the process of integrating and accompanying students runs smoothly and successfully.

In this context, NAE works closely with FCUP's Pro-Directorate for Integration, Inclusion and Social Action, whose mission is to guarantee an engaging, inclusive and enriching academic experience for all students. Working strategically and collaboratively, it seeks to ensure that each student feels welcomed, valued and supported throughout their academic career.

Inclusion Support Centre U.Porto

The Inclusion Support Centre (NAI) is part of the University of Porto's Social Responsibility Unit and its mission is to promote equity and inclusion in all dimensions of academic life.

Its central objective is to contribute to the creation of an accessible and universal environment - technological, physical, human and learning - within the academic community.

NAI supports U.Porto in valuing difference and promoting justice, equity and inclusion in access to knowledge, learning and research.

Apoio ao Estudante - PSICA

PsiCA - Psychological Support and Integration Service of Campo Alegre Campus

The mission of the Psychological Support and Integration Service of Campo Alegre Campus (PsiCA) is to promote the psychological well-being of the academic community of the faculties located at this campus of the University of Porto: Faculty of Sciences (FCUP), Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FLUP), Faculty of Architecture (FAUP) and Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences (FCNAUP).

PsiCA provides specialised psychology services for students, teachers and technicians from these faculties, contributing to emotional balance, adaptation to academic life and the promotion of mental health.

Psychological counselling is free for SASUP scholarship students and for students awaiting a decision on their scholarship application. For all other students, it costs a symbolic 2.5 euros.

Student accommodation

The University of Porto has 9 university residences and 2 studios, with a total of 1,126 beds, offering safe, accessible accommodation that is integrated into academic life.

Managed by SASUP, this support is primarily aimed at displaced students with greater socio-economic vulnerability, guaranteeing equal opportunities in access to higher education. There are also vacancies for other students and researchers, reinforcing U.Porto's commitment to inclusion and diversity.

Medical Services

U.Porto students have access to a wide and affordable range of health services, with the aim of promoting physical and psychological well-being throughout their academic career.

Consultations are available in general practice, gynaecology and obstetrics, dentistry, psychiatry, nutrition, sexual health, among other specialities, provided by qualified professionals and adapted to the needs of the student community.

Students have at their disposal a wide network of canteens, restaurants and snack bars that provide quality meals at affordable prices.

At FCUP, this includes a canteen, a snack bar and a restaurant offering affordable meals. In addition, each faculty building has a support bar, guaranteeing convenience and diversity in food options throughout the day.

Sports

Academic well-being also involves regular physical exercise. Next to the FCUP campus is the University Stadium, one of the hubs of the University of Porto Sports Centre (CDUP), which is open to the whole community.

Through the UPFit programme, it is possible to access more than 40 activities - from fitness, bodybuilding, dance and combat sports, to aquatic disciplines, body and mind and adapted sports - at highly competitive prices.
