Society - Media Relations

The production of knowledge and its contribution to the development of science and society are pillars of the Faculty of Science's activities, which are frequently disseminated to the general public through news on institutional channels and in the media.

FCUP maintains a close relationship with the national and international media, providing a range of specialised services tailored to the needs of journalists and other media professionals:

  • Sending press releases and reporting proposals;
  • Scheduling and monitoring reports;
  • Providing images for use by the media;
  • Responding to requests for information on topics related to FCUP;
  • Identifying and liaising with specialists on current issues in a wide range of areas, acting as a facilitator in scheduling interviews and promoting reports.

FCUP selects a set of news items that it publishes in its "Acontece em Ciências" newsletter, sent weekly to its academic community and other interested subscribers.

In addition to the news published on institutional channels, FCUP produces content that it shares on the University of Porto's news platform.
