The experience I gained during my Master's in BFBP helped me to develop my scientific skills because it gave me the resilience I needed to face the day-to-day problems of a scientific researcher. This master's also gave me a better understanding of the labour market in plant biology and science-related entrepreneurship. After completing my master's degree, I quickly obtained an FCT doctoral scholarship in Plant Biology.

The BFBP master's programme not only focuses a lot on the practical application of the theoretical knowledge we've learnt, but it also opened the door to a wide range of possible projects, including international experience. For me, it's still the best choice I could have made, both because of the lecturers involved and because of the different subjects I've had the opportunity to delve into.
The master's programme allowed me to grow and develop various tools within scientific research, thanks to the teachers of all the courses who were always willing to discuss and develop ideas. Although I continued with the research area, the master's gives students entry into the labour market, especially during the second year with the Internship/Project option.
Thanks to the bioinformatics course, I learnt how to transform data from various types of sources in order to create data models that meet the needs of my stakeholders and help expand and improve the business of the company where I work.
