Mission

The Archive's mission is to promote a policy for managing information produced, received and archived within the scope of the activities carried out by the institution, with the aim of safeguarding and preserving institutional memory.

Documentary archive

The FBAUP Archive plays an important role in the history of the institution, in safeguarding its heritage and preserving its future memory. It consists of a set of documents of a historical, academic and administrative nature, produced and received since the creation of the Academia Portuense de Belas-Artes, in 1836, until the present day.

The FBAUP Historical Archive comprises the following funds:

• Porto Academy of Fine Arts
  (1836–1911)
• Portuense Museum
  (18391911)
• Porto School of Fine Arts
  (1911–1957)
• Porto Superior School of Fine Arts
  (1957–1991)
• Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto
  (1991–present)
