Bachelor's Degrees - Applications and Admissions

Applications for the Sports Science degree are open to both national and international students.

The entrance exams to the Sports Sciences degree have two distinct formats:

  1. National, carried out through the National Competition for Access to Higher Education, the exclusive responsibility of the Directorate-General for Higher Education;
  2. Special, with applications subject to conditions and deadlines defined by FADEUP.

The general regime for access to bachelor's programmes is especially, but not exclusively, aimed at students who have completed secondary education in Portugal. Applications must be made directly on the online page of the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES).

Physical and Functional Aptitude Tests - Prerequisites

The Physical and Functional Aptitude Test - Pre-Requisites is compulsory for applicants to the Sports Science degree programme.

The Via Escola - Change of Institution/Course Pair competitions are aimed at students who have previously attended a course at FADEUP or another Portuguese or foreign higher education institution and now wish to enter a different institution/course pair.

The Via Escola - Change of Institution/Course competitions are aimed at candidates over the age of 23 who do not have a qualification for access to higher education via another entry system.

The Via Escola - Re-entry competitions are aimed at candidates who, having attended and interrupted a degree course (1st Cycle) at FADEUP, wish to resume their academic career.

The Via Escola - Holders of Other Higher Education Courses competitions are aimed at holders of bachelor's, licentiate's, master's or doctoral degrees.

The Via Escola - International Students competitions are aimed at candidates who do not have Portuguese nationality or the nationality of another member state of the European Union and are therefore holders of the International Student Status (EIS).

The Via Escola - Single Curricular Units competitions are aimed at students from the University of Porto and from outside the University of Porto who wish to take single curricular units at FADEUP.

FADEUP offers a wide range of unique course units. Attendance at singular Curricular Units is subject to the payment of a fee equal to 1/5 (one fifth) of the annual tuition fee applicable to the candidate's situation.
