Institutional - FADEUP in Numbers

Currently, 1678 students attend the various FADEUP courses. There are 646 undergraduate, 729 master's and 233 doctoral students attending the three study cycles.

Of the students currently enrolled, reference should also be made to the 55 in the mobility process and 15 students in continuing education courses.

FADEUP is a school open to the world, as evidenced by the students of 28 nationalities currently attending the various courses available. Among the 195 foreign students enrolled, 159 come from Portuguese-speaking countries, of which Brazil stands out with 139 students.

Excellence in research is one of FADEUP's priorities, favouring current topics impacting the community. Within the University of Porto, FADEUP is the faculty with the most scientific articles co-authored with foreign researchers. When considering the ratio of researchers to scientific articles, and within the same universe, it is the faculty with the highest production of scientific articles.

FADEUP is a dynamic and innovative school. Today it enjoys great prestige in Portugal, Europe and the world, as evidenced by the most prestigious international rankings of higher education institutions. In its most recent edition, the Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Sport Science Schools and Departments places FADEUP among the 25-50 best sports schools in the world, among the 10-20 best in Europe, 3rd in Ibero-America and number 1 in Portugal. The QS World University Rankings places FADEUP among the 100 best sports schools in the world, which reflects the school's current high prestige.
