Raúl Acosta García is a researcher at the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. He has studied environmental politics between government, activists, and non-governmental organizations in the Brazilian Amazon, in Spain, and in Mexico. A key interest for him is the manner in which contrasting forms of knowledge are negotiated between local inhabitants, communities of practice and power holders. He obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Oxford (UK), and has worked in universities in Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
