Lúcia Matos is Associate Professor of Art Studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto (FBAUP), Portugal, where she coordinates the MA program in Art Studies and directs FBAUP art museum and exhibitions program. She is a member of the research group Museum Studies of Instituto de História da Arte (IHA) of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal. Her research interests are focused on the documentation of production, display and reception of modern and contemporary art and supervises PhD thesis on these subjects. She has coordinated a research project involving several universities and museums in Portugal and Spain dedicated to the documentation of works by Portuguese contemporary artists. She participated in the European Marie Curie project New Approaches in the Conservation of Contemporary Art (NACCA). Her research interests led to involvement in the development of strategies to improve public access to collections and she has been a team member of a R&D project titled Cooperative Holistic view on Internet Content (CHIC). She also has a professional and academic interest in curating research-based exhibitions and organizes and curates individual and group exhibitions.
