Isaura Tavares was born in 1966. Graduated in Biology (Science Branch) at the Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto 1989. PhD in Human Biology in 1998 with studies of neurobiological circuits involved in pain control from the brain. President of the Portuguese Neuroscience Society from 2016-2018. President of the Educational Board of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto. Currently more interested in contemplative neurosciences in self care and pain control.
