Andrea Rónavári pursued her M.Sc. (2011) and Ph.D. degree (2017) in Environmental Science at the University of Szeged. Currently, she is a research fellow at the Department of Applied and Environmental Chemistry, University of Szeged. Her current research focuses on the biological activity of nanostructures; in particular the possibilities of using metal and metal oxide nanoparticles in environmental remediation and as therapeutic agents in nanomedicine. She co-authored 21 peer reviewed papers and has over 400 independent citations. She received Apáczai Csere János Doctoral Grant (2013), OTP Travel – Pro Talentis Industrial Scholarship (2014), FEMS Young Scientist Meeting Grant (YSMG, 2013, 2019), Hungarian Society for Microbiology – Young Researcher Grant (2016, 2018) and Hungarian Academy of Sciences – János Bolyai Postdoctoral Research Grant (2021). She gives lectures on chemistry practices, renewable energy sources and bionanotechnology, and is a supervisor of undergraduate students.
