Alípio Jorge is an associate professor at the Department of Computer Science of the Faculty of Science of the University of Porto. He is head of the department since July 2018 and the coordinator of LIAAD, the Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Lab of INESC TEC. He is PhD in Computer Science by U. Porto, MSc. on Foundations of Advance Information Technology by the Imperial College and BSc. in Applied Maths and Computer Science, currently Computer Science (U. Porto). His research interests are Artificial Intelligence andMachine Learning, in particular recommender systems, personalization and NLP. Currently he is co-director of the BSc in AI and Data Science at FCUP/FEUP. He lead and participated in research projects on data mining, machine learning and NLP. He co-chaired international conferences (DSAA 2021, ECML/PKDD 2015, Discovery Science 2009, ECML/PKDD 2005, EPIA 2001). He acts as a Portuguese representive for the European Coordinated Action on AI.
