Covid-19 Safety Measures
As host of the EUGLOH Annual Summit 2021, the University of Porto is working closely with the Alliance Partner Universities and local authorities to ensure the safety of all participants.
All the national regulations and international guidelines will be enforced throughout the entirety of the event, namely:
- face masks are mandatory in the venue;
- social distancing will be ensured in all the event rooms at the Rectorate of the U.Porto;
- access to networking and cultural events will be limited to participants with a valid EU Digital COVID Certificate or a negative result to a COVID-19 test (PCR or Rapid Antigen tests accepted).
Portugal is currently the second country in the world with the highest share of population vaccinated against COVID-19 (84.7% fully vaccinated) and recently started a new phase of its reopening plan.
As of October 1st, all businesses are open and operating without restrictions in terms of capacity, but some rules are still applied to everyday life.
- Mandatory use of mask:
- In public transport (including taxis or TVDE), concert halls and events, large commercial surfaces, schools and universities, health establishments and other services.
- By workers in bars, clubs, restaurants and commercial and service establishment.
- Mandatory presentation of EU COVID Digital Certificate in:
- Major cultural and sporting events (check the event website for more info);
- Bars and clubs;
- Visits to health facilities;
- Travel by air or sea
- General behavior guidelines:
- Social distancing;
- Frequent hand washing;
- Respiratory etiquette.
All foreign citizens are granted access to health care in Portugal through the National Health Service. In case of emergency, namely in case of the occurrence of COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough or difficulty breathing), you can call the National Health Line (+351 808 24 24 24) to request assistance.
