During two weeks, EIT Health Hub University of Porto held infoday sessions online, in partnership with incubators and research centres from the North of Portugal, reaching over 120 entrepreneurs, researchers, and students.

During those sessions, Inês Matias, Business Creation Manager at Innostars, presented the accelerator opportunities for this region, and Joana Carrilho, Project Manager at EIT Health Hub University of Porto, talked about the hub’s upcoming opportunities and activities – such as workshops, mentoring, the innovation support project, or Doing Business in Health.

The first session was organized in partnership with UPTEC and ScaleUp Porto, two incubators from Porto, that are also partners in other projects, such as Doing Business in Health, a matchmaking event between startups and more mature corporates. The second session was at i3S – Institute for Research and Innovation in Health – focused on students and researchers.

In 2021, EIT Health Porto aims to widen its area of influence, so the last two sessions were in institutions from Braga, where innovation is growing. B.ACIS is the Center for Health Innovation from the School of Medicine, University of Minho, and StartUp Braga is an incubator for start-ups in digital economy, health technology and nanotechnology.

These sessions also provided an opportunity to access the region needs in health innovation, broaden the network, and develop the hub’s scope in the region.
