Dorothea Lange was born in 1985 in Hoboken. She became known as one of the first “documentary” photographers. During her career she published many photos representing the devastation of the country after the Great Depression and her photos became so popular that the Government decided to take action to help the poor and forgotten families, sharecroppers and migrants.
