Norman Borlaug (1914 – 2009) was the agronomist who, with all of his hard work, managed to produce a new type of wheat that was resistant to stem rust, a disease that destroyed many crops. By doing that, he saved the world from a hunger wave that was threatening to kill millions of people at the time.
