Nellie Bly (1864-1922) was an American journalist who was famous for her investigative approach. She ended up going undercover in a mental institution and revealed the conditions the patients were kept in. Bly was also known for her record breaking trip around the world in 72 days. She was a pioneer in the field of investigative journalism and a role model for many.
