NEWS UPDATE Cultural Issues Albuquerque Mendes Born in Trancoso, his activity is attached to the city of Porto. He has been exhibiting since the 1970s, having worked in the fields of performance and installation. He was one of the founders of Espaço Lusitano, in Porto, and member of the Puzzle group. He obtained the Nadir Afonso Prize at the Chaves’ First Biennial of Art in 1983. Among his individual exhibitions the following are worthy of mention: 1987 – Sala Atlântica, Porto; 1988 – Gruporzan Gallery, La Coruña; 1990 and 93 – Nasoni Gallery, Porto and Lisbon; 1991 – Lídia Cruz Gallery, Leiria; 1992 – Amadeo de Souza Cardoso Museum, Amarante; 1993 – Nogueira da Silva Museum, Braga.
